GENE 231: AI FOR BEGINNERS

This course offers a high-level overview of AI techniques, focusing on neural networks and their relevance to generative AI and large language models. Pre-built hands-on exercises introduce core concepts and applications. The curriculum also addresses societal and ethical considerations related to real-world AI use. With an emphasis on healthcare, the course explores the intersection of AI and genetics, highlighting both technological advances and ethical concerns.

CS 521: SEMINAR ON AI SAFETY

This seminar examines key challenges in the design of safe and verified AI-based systems. Topics include verification of AI systems, reward misalignment and hacking, secure and attack-resilient AI, diagnosis and repair, policy and ethics considerations, and AI safety implications in the automotive industry.

Theoretical and practical perspectives, hands-on development, and collaborative efforts. This quarter, we conducted several rounds of trials to collect user feedback and drafted our report.
